Threw the Looking glass
The U.S. government has secure, robust, encrypted telecommunications software but Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth didn't use it in his group chat. He chose Signal, and it's understood by the security industry that Russia (and China) is listening in on that app.
Fun Fact: Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff was on the group chat while he was in Russia meeting with Putin.
Why would Hegseth use Signal? My guess is the government app required paperwork that Hegseth was just too lazy or inebriated to fill out.
For whatever reason, the classified info that Hegseth casually spread makes him liable for a lengthy prison sentence... under normal circumstances. Unfortunately this crime will not be litigated in the courts but on Fox News. And their decision is already "innocent".

I know this is beating a very dead horse but.... get the fuck off of Chuck Schumer's ass!
The media this past week, even dependably liberal sources (Lookin' at YOU Trae Crowder!) have been all "Oooooh! That Schumer is such a gutless weenie. Trump just walked all over him! The Democrats iz all in disarray! Garble-warble-goo!"
The real question posed by the media, my dear internet chaps, should have been: "Why did the Republicans write such a venomous excuse for a continuing resolution? And why would Trump basically promise to shit all over this country if it had shut down? What the effing-eff is wrong with the Republican Party? And why can't they be more like the Democrats, who actually know how to run things?"
Snort. Growl. Grrr.
