Dope-slapfighting
I've been aware of slapfighting for some time. Its imbecility makes me want to weep in shame over what Americans call "entertainment". Is there really no lowest common denominator?
It's almost worse than GOP governance. Almost.
What's next? Professional nose-picking? (Though how would that be much different from professional bass fishing? You just go to a favorite spot and cast your line, so to speak.)

Speaking of disgusting morons, the Right Wing Noise Machine has been pushing the notion that the wildfires in Los Angeles are somehow not the fault of climate-change accelerated hurricane-force winds in a tinder-dry locale.
To Fox News, and anyone with an "R" after their name, the fires are somehow the result of DEI and, consequently, how the hiring of Black trans women to positions of power within the firefighting force made LA firefighters so stupid they couldn't douse a candle with a whole Pacific Ocean full of water.
I wouldn't have been more surprised had Trump blamed the Los Angeles fires, the Challenger explosion, the eruption of Vesuvius, the Hindenburg disaster and the Fall of Man on Democratic DEI policies.
To be clear, when a thousand houses are on fire at once you're going to run out of water muy pronto no matter which city you live in. But, no, it's all that dayam wokeness that's to blame.
Instead of helping those in need Trumpians are currently spreading misinformation with the intent of painting California Governor Gavin Newsome as inept because he poses an honest threat as a Presidential contender in 2028. They're also threatening to withhold federal disaster funds because they need to earn their Monstrous Bastards merit badges before the inaugural.
I would like to end this by thanking the Californian, the Canadian, and the Mexican firefighters (plus 800 Californian prisoners) who are all putting their own lives at risk trying to contain the continuing conflagration. You guys are true heroes.

Hey! Remember when Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts and only received, as punishment, an "unconditional discharge? I swear Judge Merchan chose that wording because it sounded like something you'd find in a gangrenous wound... which it was.

Changing gears...
One of the most comforting sounds of this time of year is the gentle "fwoomph" my furnace makes when it fires up.
It is to winter as the sound of the ice cream truck is to summer.
