It seems that Trump was using his DOJ to surveil text and phone messages of staffers and at least two members of Congress,Democrats Adam Schiff and Eric Swallwell, almost immediately upon taking office in 2017. Knowing Trump there are probably many, many more that he was illegally snooping on.
This could explain why so many Congressional members were so subservient towards Trump. And it may explain why Justice Kennedy decided to retire so abruptly.

I post my ‘toons to Reddit and the last one, about Djinn’s and wishes, received numerous responses at that most social of media sites. The most prevalent being “What lousy wishes. You could do better.” And they’re right, but my cartoon was just a jape intended to tweak the noses of the red-hatted, not a manifesto intended to solve the world’s problems with magic. You know, like the Bible does. <eye-roll>
But what would I really wish for to effect real change on this planet? After some consideration I boiled it down to one and only one wish:
I wish that all humans would be considerate of the wants and needs of all others before themselves.
I am not the first person to consider this solution, just saying it makes for a much less amusing cartoon that speculating Putin as a nun.
Eliminating greed, especially in a society that depends on coin of the realm to prosper and grow, would solve a lot of our existing problems, like climate change, unending wars, poverty, disease, or the consolidation of information by corporate entities which want to charge us monthly fees for their distorted versions of the truth.
This country used to have a method of dealing with this problem by taxing the rich but Reagan came along and squashed that nonsense.
Sadly, greed is endemic and immutable in us homo sapiens. It's a condition we can only wish we could change.
