I'm not surprised that Americans aren't storming the gates of the White House over Trump allowing Elon Musk to loot the nation's monetary system.

Americans watched three buildings topple on 9-11 and dutifully accepted the explanation offered by the Republican government in charge when it told us it was all that jet fuel's fault.

You see, when you want to engage in wholesale criminality you begin with an opening that is so audacious that it's literally unbelievable to outside observers, stunning them in such a fashion that they have no idea how to effectively react. And so they retreat into a passive state.

Therefore, much like the quagmire that ensued in Afghanistan and Iraq, this raid on the Treasury is only the beginning.

At least Dubya had the decency to wait at least a year before unleashing Dick Cheney's particular Hell on this world.

The Executive Order last week that froze federal aid funding is a head-scratcher. Trump is surrounded with 2025-ers who are likely the authors of many of the EOs now being forced down the throats of Americans and one would suppose they understood the law and/or the Constitution well enough to know it would be shot down by a judge almost immediately. Which it was.

You'd have to be almost profoundly ignorant of the law and/or really despise those who often desperately need the government's help to want to create and execute an EO that...

Oh... right.
