Flushed Away
As most of you may know I'm taking the month off after the election as I needed a break from the stress of the political arena, plus I'm sick to death of drawing that stinky orange pus-wart. New 'toons will be back soon but, until then, it's a steady diet of Best Of's and today's 'toon is one I created a mere month after the J6th insurrection, February of 2021.
Yeah, you don't have to be Nostradamus to know you can't keep a greedy swarm of roaches Republicans down.
--------------
Republicans all want to go back to what they consider a better time, like 1793, when slavery was in vogue. I'd like to go back to a better time, too... like when Obama was President.
So the GOP may have their Project 2025 but we Democrats need to have our Project 2015. Let's work on that.

I've been reading that Americans with the financial means to do so are packing up and setting course for less authoritarian climes. It seems to me that these are the wealthy sort of individuals who need to remain in this country and fight for democracy against the ultra-rich remaining who are currently sharpening their knives for the butchering of the Constitution to come.

Believe it or not, creating political cartoons takes time, not the least of which is to find JUST the right subject matter to satirize in JUST the right manner. Even rendering the art takes hours, and then there's the Rant and the coding and the misspellings, which are always intentional no matter what you may think.
Fuckin' grammar-nazis.
Sometimes it takes me a full day of pondering to create these progressive missives. A full day! I do it happily but the current political scene, where nothing makes sense anymore, makes it a lot harder to create something meaningful or funny than when I started drawing this farce-eyed thing I call "Raging Pencils".
It's weird but, for the first time in four years, I've had actual free time on my hands. I've spent the past week attending to the house and happily crawling around under the Mustang. Most trepidatiously, though, was my decision to take this time to finally upgrade the OS on my Mac Pro.
Until this past Friday the OS I've been using is 10.6.8, known as Snow Leopard, first released in 2009. I have suffered its limitations so long because I knew that when I finally upgraded the new OS would break my old, dependable graphic software... which it promptly did.
I'm now adjusting to new versions of Adobe's best with only minor hiccups but my big problem is that my FTP program of choice, Transmit, won't goddamn work. And, without going into frustrating details, the newest version of Transmit won't work with my OS and slightly newer versions have some sort of suspicious smell to them that the Gatekeeper in my Mac finds offensive and, thus, won't run.
ARGHH!
I'll figger it out eventually and, until then, there are clunky alternatives that will keep my internet kingdom afloat.
Just thought you'd find it interesting. Now, let's see, what'll I do next? Maybe I'll clean the bathroom. Yeah, it's only been four years. How bad could it be?
