Primate
Prevarication
The one area
of human culture I had to leave out of today's cartoon, on account of space,
was
the biggest and most profitable segment of fiction of them all...
Religion.
Holy crap!
What a bullshit story these collections of myths and legends tell and holy crap!
are
there way too many humans who just can't tell the difference between a spring
rain
and
the
local
priest/rabbi/shaman/Xenus
peeing on their legs.
If you believe in god then you have to believe that he specifically designed
your brain
to
unquestioningly accept the load of rubbish that you now unquestioningly believe,
a sort of philosophic death spiral where the more you believe, the dumber you
get. You might lose all rational capability to the extent that you begin to believe
that
Conservatives
are
patriots
and that
Putin
is
fighting Ukrainian aggression.
Hell! You might even vote for Trump.
-------------
Technical note: Yeah, I know I drew the Moby dick book "backward" but,
screw
it, I'm
going
to consider that the back of the dust cover. Or that it was printed by the same
company that printed Trump's upside-down Bible.

Lefty: Humans lie to each other. A lot. It's
part of our culture but, for the most part,
we enjoy it.
Movies, books, theatre. We might call them
fictions, but they're mostly just little lies.
Moby Dick book and DVD.
We'll even accept lies from another person
even when we honestly KNOW they're lying.
But, goddamit, there HAVE to be limits!
Trump: I am the chosen one. I won the election.
I am 6' 3" and 239 pounds.
The progressive editorial cartoon about intentional
prevarication.
