In the first 100 days the Republican-led House managed to
get three bills past the Senate and signed by President
Joe Biden.
Three. That's one per month. Cushy gig.
One was the official end of the COVID-19 national emergency.
(House Democrats voted 201-7 to keep it.)
The second bill was
"Disapproving the Action of the D.C. Council in approving
the Revised Criminal Code Act."
Now THERE'S a bill all Americans were eager to see signed
into law. (eye-roll)
The third was "The COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023",
requiring the Biden administration to "declassify information
relating
to the potential links between Wuhan Institute of Virology
and the origins of COVID-19."
Pure dynamite. Absolutely guaranteed to
lower inflation, reduce gun deaths, and reverse man-made
climate change.
To no one's surprise "Denouncing the Horrors of
Socialism" failed,
as did many other awkwardly-titled bills designed entirely
to tie President
Joe Biden's hands when it comes to the economy. This leaves
about
600
more legislative days for House Republicans to squabble among
themselves, making them look even more useless and
idiotic than ever.
If that's even possible.

I realize raising the specter of Michael Jackson is fraught
with controversy these days but I thought his lyrics to "Man
in the Mirror"
were apropos to the occasion:
"I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change."
