After the Democrats take back the Senate, codify
Roe and pass the Freedom to Vote Act I hope the
assembled Democrats will take a moment to throw Citizens
United onto the funeral pyre it so richly deserves.

I had zero trick-or-treaters last night because I
live in the modest kind of neighborhood where all
the kids travel to richer neighborhoods for their
Halloween sport.
While I fruitlessly waited I watched old clips from
the Letterman show on Youtube, Halloween episodes
where the kids arrived in whatever Dave's writing
staff cooked up, oftentimes looking puzzled as hell
and a bit embarrassed at what they'd been tasked
to wear. It was most entertaining and a few odd names
popped up among the designs, like Hans Blix and Muammar
Gaddafi, which gave the episodes some historical
heft.
The best part, though, was the coda of one episode
which showed all the kids involved in one of the
sketches, in the Green Room, delightedly feasting
on a assortment of New York pizza as a reward for
their labors. Good times.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a few bags of Snickers
to dispose of.
