Because I love and appreciate you, my faithful readers, I am going to get right to the meat of the matter:

Beginning today I am taking a one-month hiatus from Raging Pencils.

The biggest reason for this is that I've let the current political situation, especially as it regards president-elect Manchild Churian, consume more of my life than is either healthy or reasonable. This obsession has adversely affected my livelihood and it's critical that I devote myself to the needs of my clients, plus personal needs, in a more alacritive manner.

(I should have taken this break immediately after Election Day but the situation was still fluid enough to require close scrutiny. That hope faded when the Electors chose party over country.)

If there's time perhaps I can pour some needed hours into final assembly of the oft-promised Raging Pencils book. I would like that.

Yes, I know it's disappointing. We must all keep the Massive Orange Turd's feet to the fire but I believe creative and political forces which far exceed my strip's modest grasp will have to do the heavy lifting for now. My hope is that NATO will step in before Inauguration Day to call for new elections but I'm not holding my breath.

But please don't go away. For the next month, starting today, I will be posting classic Raging Pencil 'toons Monday through Friday, (today's cartoon is from April 25, 2012) plus the occasional Rant as time and enthusiasm allows.

Now, let's see what 2017 brings us.
