Lies
and Damned Lies
For
the 2010 mid-terms the GOP campaigned on "Jobs,
jobs, jobs!", but so far they have yet to propose
one, single, solitary bill that would substantially
increase employment. And by "substantial" I
mean more than just
the squadron of $500-an-hour lawyers they hired
to fight equal marriage rights for homosexuals.
However, Republican legislatures have been busy. In
30 states they have thus far enacted over 60 laws that
would radically restrict
voting rights for Democrats, all in the name
of protecting us from the dreaded "vote fraud".
Which translates to just 96 incidents since 2003
at a cost of millions and millions
and millions of dollars. Even the Washington
Post is
pissed about what the Republicans are doing.
But no jobs.
They've also gone bananas passing abortion
restriction measures, a total of 162 so far this
year, an increase of almost 200% over last year. And
in just 19 states. Opportunistic little bastards, aren't
they?
But
no jobs.
Then there's the all-out war the GOP is waging on
the middle-class, otherwise known as "union-busting".
It's occurring in
Wisconsin, Florida,
Illinos, Ohio, Michigan, basically wherever a few union
dollars might go to progressive election causes. Yes,
it's more voter supression and it's also a jobs killer.
This frantic pace is to ensure that as many Democrats
as possible cannot vote come election day, that's why
it's up to you to understand your state's new voting
laws and be prepared to fight these fucking
scum-suckers with every vote possible come election
day.
Then, with a Democratic Congress, the jobs drought
will end. No prayers needed.

Republican Job Creation Update
"We're
going to have a relentless focus on creating
jobs." -
John Boehner, February 10, 2011.
The following is #87 in a list of Republican
job creation activities
since they gained control of the House in
2011. None, sad to
say,
have
yet to result in one, single new job.
(87) 9-21-2011: The leaders of the Republican Party
just sent a letter to the Federal Reserve saying "Keep
unemployment high." Honestly, the letter says,
in essence, "Hey, those guys out there in the ocean
are drowning. Whatever you do, don't do something just
to be doing
it."
NOTE: As a result of an unexpected wave of enthusiasm
the Republican
Job Creation update now has its
own web site. It will remain on the RP but a
web site of its own will raise its visibility
on the 'net as
we progress towards the critical 2012 elections.
And I thank you for your support.
