American
Faces
This
is Jared Hagemann, a married man, father of two,
and a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He had seen
eight
tours
of duty in
Iraq and Afghanistan. As you might guess the stress from
these assignments had finally begun to take a toll.
He cried easily and talked of God never
forgiving
him for the
things he had seen and done while overseas. He sought
treatment from the military but was ignored.
When he
was assigned to his 9th deployment several weeks ago,
this
time to
Afghanistan,
he shot himself in the head.
No one should have to fight these senseless oil wars once, much less nine times.
Thank you, Sgt. Hagemann, for serving your country honorably. Too bad it didn't
return
the
favor.

8-12-2011: This
is Phillip
Hinkle, a State Representative from Illinois. He's a staunch defender of
family values and opposes legislation favorable to the LBGT community. Naturally,
he's a Republican.
Which of course means he's just been caught arranging a tryst with an 18-year-old
homosexual male via Craigslist.
-----------
This
is Rick Perry. He's another idiot Texas governor running for president.
He values form over function, loves spending tax dollars, and has had no qualms
about
sending
innocent
men
to death in Texas prisons. None. We've seen this lunacy before.

Republican Job Creation Update
"We're
going to have a relentless focus on creating jobs." -
John Boehner, February 10, 2011.
The following is #66 in a list of Republican
job creation activities
since they gained control of the House in 2011. None,
sad to
say,
have
yet to result in one, single new job.
(66) 8-15-2011: Yayyyy! Republican Darrell Issa, Chairman
of the House Oversight Committee (which
investigates government corruption) is keeping his home district busy
by securing millions of dollars for road and public works projects. I
guess it was just a complete coincidence that most of the work is planned
near properties Mr.
Issa owns. Uh-oh.

Dump Fox News
And
what manner of lie is Fox News spewing today? They're
claiming that left-wing groups spent $30 million in
the recent Wisconsin recall elections. The
truth is
that both sides spent about $30 million total, with
the right-wing getting the bulk of the donations.
