Monkey See

monkey see monkey due We humans are very fortunate to be able to look around at our world and observe the parade of species that have, as we have since learned, sprung from common antecedents. It is our great luck that we can actually see our "primitive" evolutionary relatives chasing each other around trees in African forests. These apes are so similar to us, in fact, that modern science often conducts cruel experiments upon them in order to perfect the ideal beauty cream, for example.

Now let's suppose that all of the great apes had gone extinct long before mankind reached the Age of Reason. I wonder, then, if the theory of evolution would have been posited as early as it was. Yes, Darwin based his research on finches, among other relatively fast-breeding animals, but it was his personal experience with a chimpanzee that deepened his resolve to find the key to our genetic connection.

Science is lucky that way sometimes.

john boehner"We're going to have a relentless focus on creating jobs." - John Boehner, February 10, 2011.

The following is #41 in a list of accomplishments by the GOP since they gained control of the House in 2011. None have yet to result in one, single new job.

(41) 6-17-2011. The GOP is censoring Democratic congressional newsletters because they're using the GOP's own words to define the Ryan Budget. Nice.

Fox News Lies! And what manner of lie is Fox News spewing today? While President Obama gave a speech on alternative energy the fuck-wads at Fox played a video in the background of a collapsing wind turbine. Classy.

Skeptical roach: Look, we've had the same basic body structure for over 350 million years. How can you be so certain about the existence of evolution?

Shoe squashes him.

Other roach: Call it a hunch.
