Fighting Turtles!
Shoot me if you've heard this one:
A well-known scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described
how the earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the
center of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.
At the end of the lecture, a lady stood up and said: "What you have told
us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant
tortoise."
The scientist nodded politely and then asked, "Yes, but what is the tortoise
standing on?"
" You're very clever, young man" said the woman. "But it's turtles
all the way down!"

Being skeptical of, oh, almost everything I find myself unable to accept the
notion that god, or whatever name or concept you might use, simply popped into
existence one day and started creating people and dictating diet plans. Seems
to me there had to be a few 'turtles' somewhere back there paying the mortgage,
stocking the larder with Red Bull and footing the higher edumacation bills.
After all, you can't feel like a god without a few semesters of pre-med organic
chemistry under your belt.
