John Hinderacker is arguably the most influential conservative blogger in the country. He is also a first-class loony. As proof, here's what he had to say about Mr. Obama in his Sunday column:

"Obama thinks he is a good talker, but he is often undisciplined when he speaks. He needs to understand that as President, his words will be scrutinized and will have impact whether he intends it or not. In this regard, President Bush is an excellent model; Obama should take a lesson from his example. Bush never gets sloppy when he is speaking publicly. He chooses his words with care and precision, which is why his style sometimes seems halting. In the eight years he has been President, it is remarkable how few gaffes or verbal blunders he has committed. If Obama doesn't raise his standards, he will exceed Bush's total before he is inaugurated."

Is it any wonder that the entire world is doubled over in giddly glee that these neocon dunderheads are finally leaving the American political stage to real adult supervision?

Travesties like Proposition 8 occur because people think this is a Christian nation based on Christian laws.

If that were true then why aren't the jails full of adulterers and coveters? Why is there not a single person serving hard time for working on the Sabbath? Tell me one person who's had to pay a fine for disrespecting his parents. Show me anyone serving a life sentence for making a graven idol. And why aren't the streets running red with the blood of atheists?

Murder and theft are real crimes. Loving someone isn't. It's safe to say that one of the last things we need to be doing is voting on who to hate.
