Long Story Short: An excuse for picking a man's pocket.
This
web site, as do many others, displays an ad supplied by a famous search
engine company. You know who I'm talking about. It rhymes with "floppy-floogle".
For the most part the ad's main use is as an analytic tool, aiding me in
determining the ebb and flow of web visitors throughout the day. To say
the least, I will not be retiring anytime soon on my referral fees. Or
buying a Snickers Bar for that matter.
Yesterday the ad featured a picture of John McCain and directed the user to a
web site which was infamous for vicious lies and distortions concerning Mr. Obama.
A visitor to ragingpencils.com saw it and wrote me an email about its appearance,
thinking my site had been hacked. I thanked him for his consideration and then
assured him that the ad was perfectly legal and that there was nothing I could
do about the content of such things. It was simply the price I pay for using
the word "McCain" a lot at Raging Pencils.
I then told him that a less ethical human would click on every ad for John McCain
he encountered, because that would cost John McCain, or his menials, a great
deal of money. But no decent person would ever dream of doing a thing like that.
Shame on you for even thinking about it.
Grin.
