Praying For Death

Florida's Attorney General just announced that vaccinations for all schoolchildren is now optional. They're basing it on the old "religious grounds" basis.

Pardon me for stating the obvious but how far does that line of murderous logic extend? What torment of a child is possibly outside the boundaries of "religious grounds"?

Should, for example, an otherwise rational human being be absolved from guilt should they institute lawn darts into their religious ceremonies? You know, for Jesus?

"Religious grounds" is a "get out of jail free card" for the lazy and ignorant, a card that atheists neither need or desire.

I rest my case.

Speaker of the House Mike "Me and My Porn-Loving Son" Johnson recently floated the notion that Dictator Dimento couldn't possibly have been boning teenaged girls over on Epstein's Petticoat Junction because <drum-roll> he was actually working undercover for the FBI at the time as an informer.

After being ridiculed all weekend Mikey decided to admit to himself that he was a terrible liar and fessed up to one and all that he's a terrible liar. Which is a shame

This is a shame because I'd built this fantasy in my head of Orange Derangement Syndrome himself leaning over the girls he was raping and whispering in their ears “Shhhh. I’m an informant for the FBI. I really don’t want to be doing this. My mission here should be complete in several more years. So be sure and tell the other teenagers that I’m doing this because I have to not because you all look like my daughter. Thank you for your attention in this matter.”

Don Whoreleon's BBB cut funding for the Affordable Care Act in order to give big tax cuts to billionaires. Democrats tried three times during deliberations to restore that funding to no avail.

Americans are now seeing their insurance costs rise as a result of the bill and many, perhaps millions, will find insurance unaffordable.

Republicans are suddenly fearful of voter backlash so they're currently pushing a bill that will restore the ACA funding.... for one year.

Just past the mid-terms. Yeah, I know!

Democrats in Congress will oppose this bill because it's pointless and will bloat the deficit even more, which of course means the GOP will jump on it as ammunition in their mid-term advertising to prove those dumb old Democrats oppose health care. And conservative voters will fall for it. Again.

Cue the leopards.

Slimy. Cynical. Typically Republican.
