The Irony Throne
In 2016 a mere 80,000 votes scattered over four swing states cost Hillary Clinton the election. About the same 80,000 votes in those states lost Trump reelection in 2020. In 2024 the number was 240,000 votes over six swing states that lost Kamala her bid for a seat behind the Resolute Desk.
40,00 votes per state, out of millions, was the difference between real progress by the Harris administration and the looming kakistrocacy we're now facing. Even worse, I'm told, is that 90 million vote-capable Americans sat out the 2024 elections. It would be interesting to know what kind of third-party candidate those 90 million voters would choose for themselves. Even if it'd been for a cocker spaniel it would have been superior to the result we are now all suffering.
And do I mean "all", only Trump voters don't know it yet.

Today's Retread-O-Matic comic is from May 17, 2017. This was the heyday of "fake news" so the literal destruction of the news media in this image was only metaphorical. I hope all the white, entitled, racist voters who made what I deemed a warning a grim future reality enjoy the opportunity to broil in the fires of the Armageddon for which they've so dearly longed.
