My internet connection died Monday night about 11PM CST.
The technician from AT&T arrived 18 hours later and said
"Sorry. We're going to have to run new lines. See you on
Wednesday."
Sigh.
So the cartoon you're seeing now is visible only through
the technical grace of cell phone hotspotting, using the
clunkiest uploading
method known to man that doesn't involve two sticks and a
big rock.
As I'm unable to surf the 'net for the latest in news there
will be no Lefty News today (sorry eddi).

As for Rants, I got to wondering the other day "What if
there had been no rubber plant in this world? How
crippled would technological advancements, especially those
regarding
personal automotive travel, have been?
And what if our ancestors had eradicated all the rubber
trees (and other latex-bearing flora) as nuisance plants
long
before the horseless carriage had been invented?"
We take this sort of serendipitous thing for granted. In
the same way that we take Democracy for granted.
