Action!
A little perspective:
• E.T. phoned home for over a year.
• Star Wars screened for 44 weeks.
• Titanic floated for 41 weeks
• Back to the Future was in theaters for 37 weeks.
• Beverly Hills Cop played for 30 weeks.
• Rocky Horror is in a time warp of its own.
Can you imagine a major motion picture playing in theaters for more than
six
months
these
days?
It’s not just unthinkable, it's outside the scheme of creating a movie
that makes a good trailer and then advertising the hell out of it in order
to plunder the pockets of the unsuspecting on the first weekend.

On a chirpier note, Beloved Girlfriend and I rented "Source
Code" this weekend from our local vend-a-movie box. Damned fine bit
o' science fiction. It has our blessing.
----------
I shopped at the Three Dollar Store today. It was my regular grocery
store but everything suddenly seems to cost three dollars.
The milk is three dollars,
the bread is three dollars, the salad
dressing is three dollars, the orange juice, the cheese, the spinach,
the mouthwash, the antacids, the 'tater chips.... everything's fucking
three dollars!
Did I miss something?

"We're
going to have a relentless focus on creating jobs." -
John Boehner, February 10, 2011.
The following is #60 in a list of Republican
job creation activities
since they gained control of the House in 2011. None,
sad to
say,
have
yet to result in one, single new job.
(60) 8-1-2011: The GOP breaks out the fiddles while the
economy burns. The tune they favor is the "Screw The
Poor and the Elderly" polka, and they're hitting the
coda HARD.

And
what manner of lie is Fox News spewing today? Fox News
is braying about anti-Christian
bias in the media. Google
says "Har-de-har-har!"
