Semi
Perspective Vortex
Today
I
heard someone posit the sickening notion that blacks
in this country operate under a sub-set of rules designed
to
save their
lives in the vast melting pot of "Stand Your Ground"
America. Rules that are similar, though subtly different
from the ones white Americans use. The rules listed
in today's
cartoon
are examples I found on
the 'net.
They
seem
almost innocuous
except
they're dead serious.
Can you imagine, my Caucasian brethren, if you had
to lay down these same laws
to your children with the intent of keeping them
alive in an environment full of racist, gun-happy blacks
who could get away with murder because they wrote the
gun laws? Would you have handled the subsequent murder
of your son with the same grace as the Martin family?
Just sayin'.
BTW, if I left any "rules" out, feel free to add them
to the comments below.

I loves me some Rachel Maddow. I also loves me some
Terry Gross, who featured Ms. Maddows on her Fresh
Air program yesterday. It was a near hour-long
interview that was a feast for the ears.

Note 1: A movie based on the life
of Eugene
Allen, the White House butler from 1952 to
1986, is currently in production. Tapped to play the
role of Nancy Reagan is Jane Fonda. Conservative heads
are exploding like popcorn.
Note 2: A 45-foot paper
airplane was launched over Arizona.
Note 3: Why is George Zimmerman
being given such obvious preferential treatment in
the murder of Trayvon Martin? Could it be because
his
father was a judge? (Update:
His father was actually a magistrate for the Virginia
Supreme Court, which is a court administrator. Close
enough for jazz, as Elvis always said.)
Note 4: Can this be true? The New
York City Board of Education is planning to excise
the word "dinosaurs"
from standardized tests because the concept hurts
the brains of fundie neanderthals.
Holy hand grenade!
Note 5: And now a message from your
local Association
of Smartasses.
Note 6: Say "Hello!" to Rick
Santorum!

Republican Job Creation Update
3-28-2012: The
House debated FCC transparency, baby monitors, and
a transportation bill but nothing of note passed.
No jobs were created, either.
