Two Turtle... Guys

"Without deviation from the norm, 'progress' is not possible." - F. Zappa

frank zappaZappadan?

It's an imaginary holiday, not unlike Christmas, dreamed up to celebrate the life of Frank Zappa.

Yes, imaginary. Christmas is about some guy that lived a long time ago who got himself nailed to a piece of wood. Did he write some bitchin' rock-n-roll about titties and beer? No. Did he kick out da jams about the Illinois Enema Bandit? I think not. So gimme Zappadan any day over Xmas.

The fun continues from the date of his death, December 4th, to the moment of his most glorious birth, December 21st. How you celebrate it is entirely up to you but there's no requirement to shop for anything. I like it already.

If you're intrigued by the notion, and I have no idea why you might be, there's a tiny little bit more about it here. You might also wander over to youtube and search for "200 motels". You'll find clips from Frank's most amazing filmic event. It's beats that Charlie Borwn crap.
