me, Barfy.
Smile!
Several
years ago I received my very first digital camera
as a birthday gift from Beloved Girlfriend.
It took tiny, crappy, fuzzy images but I was
insane
with
delight
to
have
it. My
old
film camera was henceforth banished to the back
of the closet.
Fast forward a decade and I'm busy clearing out
the junk which is threatening to overwhelm me.
Lo and behold I find my old film camera. And
it still works. The battery hasn't even corroded
and there's even film in it.
A miracle! Praise Cthuhlu!
I finish out the roll of film by annoying the
cat with a series of candid shots and then drop
it off at the local
drug
store.
From
all
indications
this isn't as rare an occurrence as I thought
it would be. A mere 45 minutes later and my pictures
are ready.
I'm amazed as the pictures are beautiful
in a way that digital printouts just somehow
aren't. Maybe it's the magic of film grain, maybe
I'm just nostalgiac, but I'm keeping the camera.
Now where did I put my 8-track tapes?
------------------
I know this is getting boring but I decided that I would
do what I could this December to help put a dent in America's
growing hunger problem.
Most of us have enough to eat but
an astonishing number of kids, 17 million in fact, go hungry
in this country every day so that's why I'm continually bugging
visitors to
this site
to donate
a
few
simoleon's
to your
local food pantry. Just a little will go a long way.
If you're interested, please visit Second
Harvest/Feeding America and
they'll tell you all you need to know.
And thanks.
